There have been some really serious changes since last October, and they are as follow:
Most significantly, Val and I broke up in August; we'd been having issues for months, and things were further complicated by my involvement with Luke, which was not the reason per se that I chose to end our relationship, but it certainly didn't help matters and could've had much better timing. As it stands now, Val and I still live together, which is nice (even though we're no longer romantic, we're still the best of friends and have the whole domestic thing down pat).
Secondly, I started architecture studio, and it has entailed more work than I have ever known. Actually, I just finished my first charette about an hour ago (midnight Thursday), and am sitting here with a martini in hand. Design takes a ton of very hard work, but it is also incredibly rewarding to me to see the things that I can create.
Tying into the situation with Val and me, I met a guy named Luke; he's a friend of Ben Manos and goes to Tech. Initially, we were very cautious in social settings (I'm talking about just being timid in general, not sneaky about anything, for we had no reason to be sneaky), and eventually we spent an afternoon in Harper's Ferry and hit it off. Not romantically mind you, but I still lit up every time this man paid me any attention. We'd meet up every couple of weeks; once I went to his house in Lovettsville and cooked all afternoon, making red velvet cake, honey wheat bread and enchiladas for his whole family, and eventually he came to my apartment. Long story short, we put ourselves in a situation that was somewhat less than tenable, so I decided to do the honorable, honest thing, and tell Val what had happened and what had to be done.
However, out of this I have fallen so deeply and incredibly in love...my designs and artwork revolve around the beautiful boy that I call my own, so far away. All of this is for him. I love him.
